Finally: FOX News Dumps 'Irrelevant' Sarah Palin Once And For All

Fox News announced today that they have terminated former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin’s contract. Palin, who was once the poster girl for conservatism in America has become less and less relevant over recent years and a whole lot more crazy. Fox told POLITICO that their breakup with Palin was amicable and she would still make the occasional guest appearance, but as of June 1st she is no longer under contract with the right-wing’s biggest propaganda machine.

Palin first entered the political spotlight when John McCain announced that she was his White House running mate in 2008. McCain lost the race and many people blamed it on the incredible amount of semi-intelligible gibberish that poured from Palin’s mouth. However, she remained very popular among delusional extremists and the easily manipulated, so Fox News quickly decided that they needed a piece of her crazy and hired her as a regular commentator.

Over the ensuing years Palin tortured the American public with all sorts of asinine opinions and for a time fit in quite well with the network that is rotting the minds of millions of Americans every day. In 2013, the network decided she had outlived her usefulness and they announced that they would not be renewing her contract. Palin, desperate for relevancy, took a pay cut in order to remain on the airwaves. Even though she has a huge following on social media, that was not enough to save her job a second time.  According to Politico, who broke the story, executives at Fox decided she was no longer relevant:

“When Palin was at her zenith, she made frequent appearances, and Fox installed a camera at her house. But executives consider her less relevant now, and her appearances were sometimes hampered by the vast time difference with Alaska. She remains a huge conservative force on Facebook, with 4.5 million fans – twice that of Rand Paul, who has the biggest reach in the 2016 field. She also has 1.15 million Twitter followers.”

In recent months, Palin has been in the news a lot because of apparent drunken ramblings on Facebook.Last month, just two days before Fox terminated her contract, she posted a long, rambling attempted takedown of Democratic presidential candidate Martin O’Malley. Instead of taking him down, she became the laughingstock of the internet, something that isn’t new to her. The Facebook post wasn’t even the first time she’d (allegedly) knocked a couple back before giving a speech or writing a post.

It is possible that Fox decided she wasn’t relevant, but it is just as likely that the network got tired of babysitting such a volatile person. We all know that Fox is full of crazy, so when they decide that Palin is a little too crazy for them, it’s pretty hilarious.
