Hypocrite Trump Caught Importing Foreign Laborers To Staff His Resorts

Throughout his ridiculous Presidential campaign, Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump has been promising to bring more business to America and protect American jobs. Not surprisingly, the commonly offensive and hypocritical Trump owns a company that has hired hundreds of foreign workers.

Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club, a resort in Florida, applied to import 70 foreign workers to fill positions such as cooks, wait staff and cleaners this month. This information was revealed by a Reuters analysis of government data, which also found that Trump does this kind of hiring for his businesses all the time!

The U.S. Department of Labor data reveals that Trump’s companies have tried to import a minimum of 1,100 foreign workers within the last 15 years, with most of those applications being approved. Nine of Trump’s companies have tried to employ foreign cook, waitresses, vineyard workers and laborers on temporary work-visa programs. Other applications include positions such as assistant golf course superintendents, an assistant hotel manager and banquet manager. Foreign fashion models were also sought out – Trump Model Management and Trump Management Group LLC have sought visas for almost 250 of them.

This information is terribly ironic, considering that Trump has spoken against illegal foreign laborers and said that these foreign workers threaten Americans. When he announced his candidacy – in the same speech in which he called Mexican immigrants “rapists” – he said:

“I will be the greatest jobs president that God every created. I will bring back our jobs from China, Mexico and other places. I will bring back jobs and our money.”

Trump has continued to flip flop since the launch of his campaign. Almost a month after his announcement, Trump said that “legal” Mexicans were “incredible people” that he has long employed. Although The Labor Department records do not break down the foreign workers sought by companies into race, it’s likely that they are Mexican workers.

Data reveals that Trump has used the H-2B visa program most often, which operates with little government oversight although companies are required to prove that they “tried” to hire Americans and were unsuccessful. This program pulls workers mainly from Mexico. Records from 2013 show that Mexicans made up over 80% of H-2B visas in admissions to America. There have been at least 850 H-2B visa workers sought out by the Trump companies. Mar-a-Lago Club alone has sought 787 workers since 2006.

H-2B and H-2A visa programs, which Trump has used, have received criticism from U.S. government watchdogs for their lack of protection for foreign and American workers. Twelve years ago, Labor Department Inspector General said: “Abuses of these programs may result in economic harm to American workers and businesses, exploitation of foreign workers, and security risks associated with aliens who are admitted to this country by fraudulent means.” More recently, the Government Accountability Office reported that workers in America on H-2A and H-2B visas had been abused, charged illegal recruiting fees, were subjected to poor living conditions and unethically low pay.

After this hypocritical data came to light, The Mar-a-Lago Club nor Trump have not been able to be reached for comment.
